Brussels: Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna will participate in the deliberations of the General Affairs Council of the European Union, scheduled for Monday, November 17, in Brussels. She is expected to engage in a series of contacts during her visit.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Council’s discussions will encompass preparations for the European Council Summit set for December 18-19 in Brussels. Key topics include developments in Ukraine and the Middle East, the new Multiannual Financial Framework, EU enlargement, migration, and the EU’s competitiveness in the current geo-economic climate.

Additionally, the Council will review the European Commission’s work program for 2026 and EU-UK relations, emphasizing the implementation of commitments made at the EU-UK Summit in May 2025 and the full execution of existing agreements.

The agenda also includes discussions on the new Multiannual Financial Framework, focusing on progress in negotiations under the Danish Presidency. Ministers will engage in the annual rule of law dialogue, concentrating on the rule of law status in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Ireland, and Germany.
