Cyprus Weather Update: Seasonal Low Pressure Brings Variable Winds to Coastlines

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus for the period from 1200 on the 9th of July to 1200 on the 10th of July, 2026. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and highlights the influence of a seasonal low-pressure system on the region. While the weather is expected to be mainly fine, the presence of increased low cloud tonight and early in the morning poses a risk of local mist and isolated fog patches, affecting visibility.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast release was recorded at 1006 hPa. Despite the seasonal low pressure, no warnings have been issued for the area. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 27°C. Visibility is generally good but may reduce to moderate or poor in mist and become very poor in fog.

The forecast details specific wind conditions and sea states along the different coastlines of Cyprus.
