Cyprus Weather Update: Fine Afternoon, Cloudy Night Expected for Sea Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its weather forecast for the sea area of Cyprus from 1200 on October 18, 2025, until 1200 on October 19, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and indicates that the region is currently under the influence of weak high pressure.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the weather is expected to be mainly fine this afternoon, although partly cloudy conditions are anticipated tonight, particularly in the western part of the area. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1020 hPa. The visibility remains good across the region, with a sea surface temperature of 26°C. There are no warnings in effect for the period.

For the West Coast, the winds will be from the west to northwest at a Beaufort scale of 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 in the afternoon, resulting in a slight state of the sea. By night, the winds are expected to shift to northwest 3 to 4, gradually becoming northwest to northeast 3, with the sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight. The morning will see winds from the west to northwest at 3, soon increasing to 3 to 4, with sea conditions remaining from smooth to slight, soon turning slight.

On the South Coast, afternoon winds will blow from the southwest at a Beaufort scale of 4, at times locally reaching 4 to 5, causing slight sea conditions. The night will bring southwest to west winds at 3 to 4, gradually becoming northwest 3, with sea conditions turning from slight to smooth to slight. Morning winds will shift to northwest to northeast 3, soon changing to southwest 3 to 4, with sea conditions forecasted to be smooth to slight, soon becoming slight.

The East Coast will experience south to southwest winds at a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4 in the afternoon, occasionally reaching 4 offshore, with slight sea conditions. During the night, winds will shift to southwest to northwest 3, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions. By morning, the winds will transition to northwest to northeast 3, gradually becoming south to southwest 3 to 4, with the sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight.

On the North Coast, the forecast predicts west to northwest winds at 4, later increasing to 4 to 5 in the afternoon, resulting in slight sea conditions. During the night, the winds will shift from southwest to northwest 3 to 4, soon becoming southeast to southwest 3, with sea conditions moving from slight to smooth to slight. The morning will see southwest to northwest winds at 3, soon increasing to 3 to 4, with the sea conditions ranging from smooth to slight.
