Cyprus Weather Update: Calm Seas and Good Visibility Forecasted for Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering up to 8 kilometers from the coast, for the period from 1800 on December 12, 2025, to 1800 on December 13, 2025. The forecast indicates that the region will experience predominantly fine weather, although there will be instances of increased cloud cover. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1015 hPa.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the sea surface temperature is stable at 22°C, and visibility across the coastal areas is expected to remain good throughout the forecast period. The department has not issued any warnings for the area, indicating stable conditions.

Wind conditions across the various coasts are expected to vary slightly. On the west coast, winds will range from northeast to southeast at night, shifting to variable directions by morning, and transitioning to west to northwest by afternoon, with wind strength generally between 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions.

The south coast will experience northwest to northeast winds at night and in the morning, with a shift to more variable directions by afternoon, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions. On the east coast, winds will shift from northwest to northeast at night to west to northwest by morning, with a chance of increasing slightly locally, before moving to northwest to north by afternoon.

For the north coast, the forecast predicts southeast to southwest winds at night, turning southeast to south by morning, and becoming more variable by afternoon, with a gradual shift to northwest to northeast, all maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions.
