Cyprus Weather Update: Calm Seas and Clear Skies Expected

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its latest forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting mainly fine weather with occasional cloud coverage. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and is valid from 0600 on January 25, 2026, until 0600 on January 26, 2026. According to Cyprus News Agency, the region will experience weak high pressure, with atmospheric pressure recorded at 1022 hPa. Conditions will generally ensure good visibility and a sea surface temperature of 18°C. Importantly, no warnings have been issued for the forecast period. The west coast is expected to see winds vary throughout the day, starting with east to southeast winds at a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4 in the morning, shifting to southeast to south in the afternoon, and then northeast to southeast at night. The state of the sea will range from slight to moderate. For the south coast, morning winds will transition from north to northeast to northeast to east, with a sea state of slight tha t will become smooth to slight. The afternoon and night will see consistent northeast to southeast winds, maintaining a smooth to slight state. On the east coast, winds will remain northeast throughout the day at a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4, with the sea state starting as slight and becoming smooth to slight by night. The north coast will begin with east to southeast winds, later shifting to north to northeast in the morning, with a sea state from slight to moderate. In the afternoon, the winds will be north to northeast, with the sea state remaining slight. At night, winds will shift again to east to southeast, with conditions ranging from slight to smooth near the coast.
