Cyprus Weather Forecast Predicts Smooth to Slight Seas for Coastal Areas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, covering a period from the evening of April 24, 2026, to the evening of April 25, 2026. The forecast indicates that weak low pressure is currently affecting the region, resulting in the presence of increased high and medium cloud cover at times. Despite these conditions, visibility is expected to remain good, and no warnings have been issued for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast's release was recorded at 1010 hPa. Sea surface temperatures across the region are steady at 19°C. The forecast details specific wind patterns and sea states for different coastal areas of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will vary from northwest to east and southeast, with the sea remaining smooth to slight throughout the day. The south coast will experience northeast to east winds with similar smooth to slight sea conditions, although there is a slight increase in wind strength during the morning hours.

The east coast is expected to see winds shifting from west to northwest and later to northeast, maintaining smooth to slight sea states, while the north coast will experience variable winds, predominantly from the northeast to east, resulting in smooth to slight conditions. Throughout the forecast period, wind speeds are measured on the Beaufort scale, with values ranging from 3 to 5, indicating gentle to moderate breezes across the coastal areas of Cyprus.
