Cyprus Weather Forecast Predicts Slight to Moderate Sea Conditions

Cyprus: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, expecting mostly calm to moderate conditions over the upcoming period. The forecast covers a region extending 8 kilometers seawards from the coast.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast, which spans from midday on January 25, 2026, to midday on January 26, 2026, indicates that weak high pressure is currently affecting the area, resulting in partly cloudy weather with good visibility. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the report stands at 1022 hPa, and the sea surface temperature is recorded at 18°C. Importantly, no weather warnings have been issued for this period.

On the west coast, winds are expected to vary from southeast to south in the afternoon, shifting to northeast to southeast overnight, and east to southeast by morning, with wind speeds measured on the Beaufort scale ranging from 3 to 4, with some local areas reaching 4 to 5 by morning. The state of the sea is predicted to be slight, with some areas experiencing slight to moderate conditions.

The south coast will experience northeast to southeast winds in the afternoon, transitioning to north to northeast overnight, and remaining north to northeast in the morning, with wind speeds between 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea state is anticipated to be smooth to slight throughout the period.

For the east coast, northeast to east winds are forecasted, with conditions transitioning from slight to smooth to slight in the afternoon and remaining smooth to slight overnight. By morning, winds will continue from the northeast to east at a force of 3 to 4 Beaufort, with the sea state being slight.

The north coast will see northeast to east winds during the afternoon and east to southeast winds overnight, with localized shifts near the coast. The sea conditions will range from slight to smooth to slight, with the morning bringing northeast to east winds of 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally increasing to 4 to 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions.
