Cyprus Weather Forecast Predicts Slight Sea Conditions Amid Weak Low Pressure

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating that weak low pressure is currently affecting the region. The weather is expected to be mainly fine, although there will be some areas with increased cloud coverage.

According to Cyprus News Agency, atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast’s release was recorded at 1015hPa. The forecast predicts good visibility and a sea surface temperature of approximately 26°C, with no warnings issued for the period from 1200 on October 4, 2025, until 1200 on October 5, 2025.

The forecast details specific conditions for different coastal areas. On the west coast, afternoon winds are expected to vary from west to northwest at speeds of 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea state being slight. These conditions are expected to persist into the night with northwest winds at speeds of 3 to 4. By morning, northwest winds of 3 to 4 may locally increase to 4 to 5, causing the sea state to become slight to moderate in certain areas.

For the south coast, southwest to west winds of 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, are anticipated in the afternoon, with the sea remaining slight. Overnight, winds will shift to west to northwest at speeds of 3 to 4, locally falling to 3, with the sea state ranging from smooth to slight. Morning winds will be northwest at 3 to 4, later shifting locally to southwest at 4, maintaining a slight sea state.

On the east coast, southwest winds of 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4, are expected in the afternoon, resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions. Overnight, northwest winds of 3 to 4 will prevail, continuing the smooth to slight sea. By morning, the winds will remain northwest at 3 to 4, later shifting to southwest, with the sea state remaining smooth to slight.

The north coast is predicted to experience west to northwest winds of 4, locally reaching 4 to 5, in the afternoon, with a slight sea state. Overnight, northwest winds of 3 to 4 will continue, maintaining the slight sea. By morning, northwest winds of 3 to 4, later increasing to 4, will result in a slight to moderate sea state in some areas.
