Accra:The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, covering a period from 1800 on October 16, 2026, to 1800 on October 17, 2026. The forecast includes an area extending 8 kilometers seawards.

According to Cyprus News Agency, a low-pressure system is impacting the region, leading to isolated showers and a small risk of thunderstorms overnight, with winds potentially strengthening to 5-6 on the Beaufort scale during storms. Visibility is expected to vary from good to moderate or poor in showers, with current atmospheric pressure at 1010 hPa.

Sea surface temperatures are recorded at 26°C, with no warnings issued for the period. The forecast details wind and sea conditions along different coasts. On the west coast, winds will range from southwest to west at 3 to 5 Beaufort, with the sea state varying from slight to moderate. Similar conditions are expected on the south coast, with slight to moderate sea states. The east coast will see winds from southwest to west, with seas remaining slight, occasionally becoming smooth or moderate offshore. The north coast is forecasted to have slight to moderate sea states, with winds southwest to west at 3 to 5 Beaufort.
