Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, anticipating mainly cloudy weather with a risk of isolated light showers for the period from noon on December 20, 2025, until noon on December 21, 2025. The forecast covers an area extending eight kilometers seawards, with local times and atmospheric pressure recorded at 1018 hPa at the time of issuance.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast indicates that weak low pressure is influencing the region. Although no warnings have been issued, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy, with good visibility and a sea surface temperature of 21°C.
The wind conditions vary across the different coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will range from southeast to southwest in the afternoon, shifting to northeast to southeast at night, and then to east to southeast by morning. The state of the sea is anticipated to be smooth to slight throughout the period.
For the south coast, southeast to southwest winds are expected in the afternoon, changing to northwest to northeast overnight, and then to northeast to east by morning. The sea conditions will transition from smooth to slight.
On the east coast, variable winds will prevail in the afternoon, progressing to northwest to northeast at night, and then to east by morning. The sea state is forecasted to be smooth to slight.
Finally, the north coast will experience variable winds in the afternoon, shifting to southeast at night, and then to east to southeast by morning. The sea is expected to remain smooth to slight throughout the forecast period.
