Cyprus Weather Forecast: Favorable Conditions Predicted for Coastal Waters

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, covering a period from 1800 on September 3, 2026, until 1800 on September 4, 2026. The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and indicates mainly fine weather conditions, although some local mist and fog patches are expected overnight, particularly over eastern areas.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the area is currently influenced by a seasonal low-pressure system, with atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast's issue recorded at 1006 hPa. Sea surface temperatures are noted to be 29°C, and no warnings have been issued for the period.

The forecast details specific wind and sea conditions for different coastal areas. On the West Coast, winds are expected to vary from Northwest to North during the night, shifting to Southwest to West in the morning, and later to Southwest to Northwest in the afternoon. The state of the sea is predicted to remain smooth to slight throughout the period.

For the South Coast, winds will shift from Southwest to Northwest during the night to Southeast to Southwest in the morning, and finally to Southwest in the afternoon, with some local intensifications. Conditions are expected to remain smooth to slight, with some areas experiencing slight sea states.

The East Coast will see winds transition from Southwest to Northwest overnight, changing to Southeast to Southwest by morning, and South to Southwest in the afternoon. The sea state is anticipated to be smooth to slight.

On the North Coast, winds will begin as Southwest to Northwest, later becoming variable overnight. By morning, they will shift back to Southwest to Northwest, maintaining this pattern into the afternoon with occasional local intensifications. The sea state will remain smooth to slight.

These conditions suggest generally favorable maritime conditions for the period, with good visibility expected across the region.
