Cyprus Weather Alert with Possible Showers and Thunderstorms

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, predicting a period of weak low pressure affecting the region. The forecast, covering an area 8 kilometers seawards, indicates locally increased cloud cover with a risk of isolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly over the western and northern areas. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance was recorded at 1010 hPa. According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to remain good, although it may reduce to moderate or poor during showers. The sea surface temperature is currently 20°C, and there are no warnings in effect for the period. For the West Coast, the morning will see northwest winds at Beaufort scale 5 with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate, becoming moderate by afternoon. By night, winds are expected to shift from northwest to northeast at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea state ranging from moderate to rough. On the South Coast, morning win ds will vary between southwest to northwest at Beaufort scale 4 to 5, with occasional local increases to 5, causing slight to moderate sea conditions. By afternoon, the winds will shift to northwest to north, maintaining similar conditions, while at night, they will transition to northwest to northeast at Beaufort scale 4 to 5, gradually decreasing to 3 to 4 locally, with the sea state ranging from slight to moderate. The East Coast will experience southwest to northwest winds at Beaufort scale 4 in the morning, gradually shifting to northwest to north, with slight sea conditions. In the afternoon, the conditions will remain slight, with local offshore areas experiencing slight to moderate seas. By night, northwest to northeast winds at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 locally, will maintain a slight to moderate sea state. On the North Coast, northwest winds at Beaufort scale 4 to 5, occasionally reaching 5, will result in slight to moderate sea conditions in the morning. In the afternoon , the winds will increase to Beaufort scale 5, with the sea state ranging from moderate to locally slight to moderate conditions. By night, winds will transition from northwest to northeast at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 locally, with the sea conditions becoming moderate to rough.
