Nicosia: Cyprus leads the medal table of the 20th Games of the Small States of Europe ‘Andorra 25,’ having secured 26 gold medals, 23 silver, and 37 bronze, making a total of 86 medals. Iceland follows in second place with 25 gold, 19 silver, and 21 bronze, totaling 65 medals. Luxembourg ranks third with 21 gold, 21 silver, and 22 bronze for a total of 64 medals.
According to Cyprus News Agency, on Friday, Cypriot swimmer Kalia Antoniou clinched the gold medal for Cyprus in the 50m butterfly swimming event with a time of 26.80 seconds, breaking her own Cyprus record of 26.96 seconds set in 2025. Antoniou continued her impressive performance by securing another gold medal in the 50m women’s backstroke with a new Cypriot record of 29.27 seconds.
Cypriot athletes further bolstered their medal count with four additional bronze medals. In swimming, Maria Erokina captured the bronze in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 32.98 seconds. In tennis, Nicola Campbell and Nina Andronikou earned bronze in the mixed doubles, while Andreas Timinis secured a bronze medal in the singles category. In gymnastics, Eleana Panayiotou achieved third place in the vaulting event.
