Nicosia: Cyprus is experiencing high temperatures across the island, with several regions reporting significant heat levels. According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department of Meteorology has detailed the current weather conditions, including the highest and lowest temperatures recorded from 20:00 of the previous day until the time of reporting.
The capital, Nicosia (Athalassa), registered the highest temperature at 41°C, while the lowest was 23°C, with a humidity level of 17% at 1200 UTC. Larnaka Airport experienced temperatures ranging from 36°C to 24°C, with a notably high humidity of 42%. Limassol (New Port) recorded a high of 35°C and a low of 21°C, accompanied by a humidity level of 53%.
Elsewhere, Pafos Airport saw temperatures between 31°C and 23°C, with humidity peaking at 73%. Frenaros reported a high of 37°C and a low of 25°C, with 47% humidity. In the mountainous region of Prodromos, temperatures were slightly cooler, ranging from 32°C to 20°C, and a humidity level of 29%. Polis Pafos reported temperatures from 32°C to 22°C, with a humidity level of 66%.
These conditions indicate a widespread heatwave impacting various parts of Cyprus, prompting authorities to advise residents and visitors to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
