Cyprus Stock Exchange Witnesses Varied Index Performances

Nicosia: The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) concluded its latest stock exchange meeting with a mixed performance across various indices. The CSE All Share Index showcased fluctuations, reflecting the diverse market trends observed on the trading floor.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the FTSE/CySE 20 Index experienced a modest increase of 0.26%, closing at 187,770 with a traded value of 175,925.72 euros. This increment highlights a steady interest in the top 20 companies within the market. On the other hand, the Main Market Index saw a more significant rise of 0.56%, reaching 251,020, supported by a traded value of 120,780.62 euros, indicating robust activity in the primary market sector.

The Investment Companies Market Index also registered an upward movement of 0.69%, settling at 2,802.53 with a traded value of 21,165.49 euros. Meanwhile, the CSE General Index mirrored the FTSE/CySE 20's performance with a 0.26% increase, closing at 319,600, and a total traded value of 175,971.48 euros, signaling a stable overall market environment.

In contrast, the Hotels Index remained unchanged at 2,035.72, with no trading activity recorded, reflecting a period of inactivity or stasis in the hospitality sector. Conversely, the Alternative Market Index faced a decline, dropping by 0.55% to close at 2,147.88, with a traded value of 55,190.86 euros, suggesting some challenges within the alternative investment sphere.
