Nicosia: A low pressure system is currently impacting the sea area around Cyprus, bringing with it mainly cloudy skies, local showers, and isolated thunderstorms at various times throughout the forecast period.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast from the Cyprus Department of Meteorology indicates that during these thunderstorms, winds may vary and intensify.
The forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards, with atmospheric pressure recorded at 1010 hPa at the time of issuance. While visibility is generally good, it may decrease to moderate or poor during showers. The sea surface temperature stands at 22°C, with no warnings issued for the forecast period.
For the west coast, winds during the night are expected to be from the north to northeast at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions. In the morning, winds will shift to the northwest to northeast, maintaining a similar intensity and sea state. By afternoon, winds are forecast to come from the northeast to southeast at 3 to 4, potentially reaching 4, with the sea remaining slight.
The south coast will experience northeast to southeast winds ranging between 3 to 4, locally reaching up to 5 during the night, with slight to moderate sea conditions. These conditions will persist into the morning and afternoon, with a slight reduction in wind intensity but maintaining a slight sea state.
On the east coast, nighttime winds are expected to be from the northeast to southeast at 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions. These conditions are expected to continue through the morning and afternoon, with winds shifting slightly to the northeast to east.
The north coast will see similar conditions, with winds from the northeast to east at 4 to 5, locally reaching 5, creating slight to moderate sea conditions throughout the night, morning, and afternoon.
