Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a span of 8 kilometers seawards, from 1200 on September 3rd to 1200 on September 4th, 2026. The department indicated that despite the presence of seasonal low pressure, the weather is expected to remain mainly fine with some localized low cloud and potential mist or fog patches over eastern areas overnight.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance was recorded at 1008 hPa. The sea surface temperature is a warm 29°C, and the visibility is expected to be good throughout the forecast period. Notably, there are no weather warnings in effect for the area.
The forecast details the expected wind conditions and state of the sea for various coasts. On the west coast, winds will vary from southwest to northwest at a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4, with the sea state remaining smooth to slight. Similar conditions are anticipated for the south coast, with offshore winds reaching scale 4. The east coast will experience south to southwest winds, and the north coast will also see southwest to northwest winds, both maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. The forecast emphasizes the stability of the sea conditions despite the atmospheric changes.
