Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms over various coastlines within an 8-kilometer seawards area. The forecast covers the period from noon on December 14, 2025, until noon on December 15, 2025. There is a low risk of isolated showers over the western region. As the night progresses and into the next morning, the weather is expected to become partly cloudy, with isolated showers and thunderstorms anticipated over the west, north, and south coasts.
Visibility across the sea area is reported to be good, with sea surface temperatures recorded at 22°C. No warnings have been issued for this period. The wind conditions vary across different coasts, with the West Coast experiencing winds from the southwest to northwest in the afternoon, shifting to northwest to northeast at night and northeast to southeast in the morning. Similar variations in wind direction are noted for the South, East, and North Coasts, with the wind strength ranging from 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, generally resulting in smooth to slight sea conditions. However, the North Coast may experience winds increasing to 4 to 5, leading to slightly rougher seas.
