Cyprus Sea Area Forecast Predicts Calm Conditions with Occasional Cloud Coverage

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering up to 8 kilometers seawards, for the period from 0600 on September 27, 2025, until 0600 on September 28, 2025. The forecast indicates that seasonal low pressure is influencing the area, resulting in mainly fine weather. However, during the night and early morning, there will be periods of increased low cloud coverage, particularly over the eastern and southeastern coasts, with a potential risk of local mist.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to be good, though it may reduce to moderate or poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 27°C, and no warnings have been issued for the forecast period. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issue was noted to be 1011 hectopascals.

The forecast for the West Coast indicates variable winds in the morning at Beaufort scale 3, transitioning to southwest to northwest winds at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, wit
h slight sea conditions. By night, winds will vary from southwest to northwest 3 to 4, and locally near the coast from northwest to northeast 3, with the sea state being slight to smooth.

On the South Coast, morning winds are expected to be northeast to southeast at Beaufort scale 3, shifting to southeast to southwest at 3 to 4. The sea is anticipated to be smooth to slight, becoming slightly rougher in the afternoon with southwest winds at 4 to 5. At night, winds will change to southwest to northwest 3 to 4, with a smooth to slight sea state.

The East Coast will experience northwest to northeast winds at Beaufort scale 3 in the morning, transitioning to southeast to southwest at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, and then southwest 3 to 4 at night. The sea state is forecast to remain smooth to slight throughout the day.

For the North Coast, variable winds at Beaufort scale 3 will be present in the morning, resulting in slight sea conditions near the coast. In the afternoon, winds will change to southwest to northwe
st at 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5 locally, maintaining a slight sea state. During the night, the winds will transition to southwest to west 3 to 4, with coastal areas experiencing southeast to southwest winds, keeping the sea slight, and smooth to slight near the coast.
