Cyprus Sea Area Forecast Highlights Cloud Coverage and Wind Changes

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus, indicating the influence of weak high pressure over the region. The forecast outlines expected weather conditions from the evening of January 7, 2026, to the evening of January 8, 2026. During this period, increased medium and high cloud coverage will be observed, with additional low cloud presence in the west and north. There is a possibility of isolated showers, and dust is expected to remain suspended in the atmosphere.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is projected to remain good, and the sea surface temperature is recorded at 19°C. No weather warnings have been issued for the forecast period.

The forecast details specific wind patterns and sea conditions across various coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds will vary from east to southeast, transitioning to southwest to northwest, with the sea state shifting from smooth to slight. The south coast will experience north to northeast winds, gradually moving to southwest to west, with the sea remaining smooth to slightly rough. The east coast will see northeast to southeast winds, settling into southeast to south directions, with similar sea conditions. Meanwhile, the north coast will encounter northeast to east winds, later shifting to south to southwest, with the sea expected to range from smooth to slight.
