_:Cyprus recorded the third-highest share of dangerous goods in road freight transport within the European Union in 2025, with these goods comprising 7.5% of the nation's total road freight transport. This figure significantly exceeds the EU average of 4%.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the data was published by Eurostat, highlighting that Finland had the highest share at 9.8%, followed by Ireland at 7.8%. In contrast, Lithuania recorded the lowest share at 0.7%, with Portugal and Slovakia each at 1.9%.

Dangerous goods, as defined by Eurostat, include flammable liquids, toxic substances, and explosives. These shares are calculated in tonne-kilometres, which consider both the weight and transportation distance of the goods.

In 2025, a total of 13.29 billion tonnes of goods were transported by road across the EU, marking a 1.8% increase from 2024.
