Thessaloniki: The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, is in Thessaloniki to attend events organized by the city's authorities, where he will receive the Honorary Citizen title, as well as participate in events at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). According to Cyprus News Agency, a written statement from Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, detailed that the President will attend an event at Thessaloniki City Hall, where he will be officially named Honorary Citizen. This event, which will see the attendance of representatives from state authorities, will also feature an address by the President of the Republic. Following the city hall event, President Christodoulides will visit the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. There, he will attend an event organized by the University in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Cyprus and the 'Nikos Kapetanidis' Association. This event is held to commemorate the anniversary of April 1, marking the start of the an ticolonial struggle in Cyprus during the 1950s. The event is titled 'In the footsteps of the heroes: Evagoras Pallikarides - Nikos Kapetanidis. From Trebizond to Paphos and Thessaloniki.'
