Nicosia:Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides met with representatives from the American Jewish Committee (AJC) to discuss Cyprus' growing strategic influence in the Eastern Mediterranean, the enhancement of Cyprus-US relations, and regional cooperation initiatives.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, highlighted Cyprus' efforts to strengthen its strategic presence in the region. The meeting emphasized the significance of the Cyprus-Greece-Israel trilateral cooperation and addressed progress on the Eastern Mediterranean Gateway Act, which builds on the Eastern Mediterranean Energy and Security Cooperation Act.

President Christodoulides also updated the AJC on the current status of the Cyprus issue and ongoing efforts to resume negotiations under United Nations auspices.

In a separate meeting, President Christodoulides engaged with Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC. Letymbiotis noted that discussions centered on Cyprus' energy plans, the UAE's interest in increasing its involvement in Cyprus' energy sector, and the potential for collaboration in significant regional energy projects.

The Government Spokesperson further remarked that Cyprus is enhancing its role as a dependable energy partner in the Eastern Mediterranean, creating new opportunities for cooperation and investment.
