Cyprus Prepares for Low Pressure System Affecting Local Seas

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, predicting that weak low pressure will influence the region over the next 24 hours. This forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and anticipates some weather changes from noon on March 30 to noon on March 31, 2026.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure recorded at the time of the forecast issuance was 1009 hPa. The report highlights that the area will experience locally increased cloud coverage with a potential for isolated showers. Despite these conditions, the overall visibility is expected to remain good, although it may decrease to moderate levels during showers.

The sea surface temperature around Cyprus is reported to be at 19°C, providing relatively mild conditions. Importantly, there are no warnings issued for the period, suggesting that the anticipated weather changes are not expected to pose significant risks to maritime activities.
