Nicosia: Events will be held at the Cyprus Museum on Saturday, 7 February 2026, as part of Cyprus's assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union during the first half of this year.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Department of Antiquities announced in a press release on Friday that the upgraded permanent exhibition of the Cyprus Museum will be presented from 16:00 until 16:45. The presentation will feature addresses by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, and the Director of the Department of Antiquities, Dr. Giorgos Georgiou.
The Department highlighted that the permanent collection has been enhanced with significant finds from archaeological research conducted over the years, alongside antiquities repatriated to Cyprus in recent years. The exhibition has been further enriched with texts and graphics, improved lighting, and upgraded display cases.
The enhancements are aimed at substantially improving the visitor experience at the island's most important archaeological museum. Guided tours are scheduled to follow, with sessions from 17:00-18:00 (in Greek), 17:30-18:30 (in English), and 19:30-20:30 (in Greek).
