Cyprus Monitors Middle East Developments in Coordination with Partners

Nicosia: The Republic of Cyprus is actively monitoring developments in the Middle East, maintaining constant coordination with relevant state authorities and international partners. Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letymbiotis, highlighted the country's proactive stance during a briefing to CNA, emphasizing the continuous collaboration with partners and cooperating states.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the National Security Council convened to assess the security situation within Cyprus and the broader region. The Council remains in ongoing session, ensuring that all relevant services operate within established procedures and institutional readiness. This reflects the nation's commitment to vigilance and preparedness amid regional uncertainties.

The Republic of Cyprus is engaging in continuous communication with international partners, including the EU High Representative, Kaja Kallas, and foreign ministers from member states and regional countries. This collaboration is framed within international cooperation and crisis management mechanisms, underscoring the importance of diplomatic channels in addressing potential crises.

In line with these efforts, Cyprus has activated the Special National Plan ESTIA to facilitate the safe evacuation of third-country nationals if required. Enhanced security measures and protocols have also been implemented, ensuring readiness in accordance with assessments by competent services. Diplomatic missions in the region are maintaining open communication channels to assist Cypriot citizens, urging them to register on the connect2cy platform for consular support.
