Cyprus Meteorology Department Releases Sea Area Weather Forecast

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area of Cyprus for the period from 1800 on September 9, 2026, until 1800 on September 10, 2026. Seasonal low pressure is impacting the region, with mainly fine weather conditions expected and a potential for local mist or fog patches over the southeastern coastal areas during dawn. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast release was recorded at 1008 hPa.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is expected to be good but may reduce to moderate or poor in mist. The sea surface temperature is currently 29°C. There are no warnings in effect for the area.

For the West Coast, the night will see northwest to northeast winds at a Beaufort scale of 3, with smooth to slight sea conditions, locally reaching 3 to 4. In the morning, winds will shift to northeast to southeast at 3, gradually becoming southwest to west with smooth to slight conditions. By afternoon, winds will be southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, later locally west to northwest at 4, with smooth to slight conditions, occasionally becoming slightly rougher locally.

On the South Coast, nighttime will bring west winds at a Beaufort scale of 3, with smooth to slight seas. Morning winds will shift from northeast to southeast at 3, gradually moving to southeast to south at 3 to 4, maintaining smooth to slight conditions. In the afternoon, winds will be south to southwest at 4, occasionally southwest to west at 4 to 5, with smooth to slight seas, occasionally becoming slightly rougher locally.

For the East Coast, the night will have northwest winds at a Beaufort scale of 3, with smooth to slight conditions. In the morning, winds will vary from west to northeast at 3, gradually shifting to northeast to southeast with smooth to slight conditions. By afternoon, winds will become southeast to southwest at 3 to 4, later locally southwest at 4, with smooth to slight conditions.

The North Coast will experience southeast to southwest winds at a Beaufort scale of 3 during the night, with smooth to slight sea conditions. In the morning, variable winds at 3 will gradually shift to southwest to northwest, maintaining smooth to slight conditions. Afternoon winds will be southwest to northwest at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4, with smooth to slight seas.
