Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area around Cyprus, indicating stable conditions with a few variations over the 24-hour period from midday on July 6 to midday on July 7, 2026.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the area, extending 8 kilometers seawards, will experience seasonal low pressure and unstable weather conditions. The evening will see cloud coverage increase locally, with mist and fog patches possible during the night and early morning hours, which may reduce visibility from moderate to poor levels. Despite these atmospheric changes, no warnings have been issued.
Throughout the specified period, the sea surface temperature is expected to remain steady at 27°C. The forecast details the wind conditions on various coasts: the West Coast will experience winds varying from Southwest to Northwest at Beaufort scale 3 to 4, while the South Coast will see stronger winds from Southwest to West, reaching up to Beaufort scale 5 during the afternoon. The East and North Coasts will also experience winds ranging from South to Southwest at similar scales.
Overall, the state of the sea will remain predominantly smooth to slight, gradually becoming slight in some areas throughout the day. The forecast assures that these conditions will be favorable for marine activities despite the presence of mist and fog during nighttime and early morning hours.
