Cyprus Maritime Weather Forecast Predicts Weak High Pressure

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area extending 8 kilometers seawards from Cyprus, covering the period from 1800 on December 2, 2025, until 1800 on December 3, 2025. The forecast indicates that weak high pressure is currently affecting the area, with locally increased cloud coverage expected at times during the night and the following day. Isolated showers may occur; however, visibility is expected to remain good, with no warnings issued.

According to Cyprus News Agency, atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast was recorded at 1018 hPa. The sea surface temperature is noted to be 23°C. The winds across the various coasts of Cyprus are measured on the Beaufort scale and are expected to range from North to Northeast at a force of 3, shifting to Northeast to Southeast at 3 to 4 in the morning and afternoon. The state of the sea is forecasted to remain smooth to slight throughout the period, with the possibility of becoming locally slight at times.

Specifically, for the West Coast, winds during the night will be North to Northeast at force 3, transitioning to Northeast to Southeast at 3 to 4 by morning and afternoon, maintaining a smooth to slight sea state. Similarly, the South Coast will experience Northwest to Northeast winds at force 3 during the night, changing to Northeast to Southeast at force 3 to 4 in the morning and Northeast to East at force 3 to 4 in the afternoon. The East Coast will see a pattern of West to Northwest winds at night, moving to Northeast at force 3 to 4 by the morning and afternoon. Meanwhile, the North Coast will have East to Southeast winds at night with a change to Northeast to East at force 3 to 4 by afternoon, while the sea state remains smooth to slight, occasionally slight near the coast.
