Athens: President of Cyprus Nicos Christodoulides praised the multifaceted work, intellectual journey, and decisive contribution of Giorgos Georgis to Cyprus’ cultural diplomacy and the strengthening of Hellenism’s cultural ties, during an honorary event organized by the Cyprus House in Athens.
According to Cyprus News Agency, President Christodoulides specifically noted the vision of the founder and long-time Director of the Cyprus House, highlighting Giorgos Georgis’ ability to inspire through his valuable work that instills pride in the people of his homeland. Christodoulides described Georgis as a historian, diplomat, professor, researcher, and author whose dedication is driven by his love for Cyprus and its history and culture.
President Christodoulides emphasized the role of Giorgos Georgis in promoting and strengthening the historical, spiritual, and cultural ties between Greece and Cyprus. He acknowledged the establishment of the House of Cyprus as Georgis’ “life’s work” and recognized it as an essential institution fostering the cultural identity and unity of Hellenism.
