Nicosia: Guided tours and film screenings highlighting the architectural heritage of both urban and traditional architecture are central to the “European Heritage Days 2025” events in Cyprus. These celebrations, running from September 20th to October 26th, 2025, are themed “Architectural Heritage: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future.”
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry of Interior has announced this year’s events, emphasizing their role as part of a collective effort to promote and protect Europe’s shared architectural and cultural heritage. These events provide a significant opportunity to showcase local history and enhance citizens’ cultural awareness.
The events feature walking tours in various locations, including the mines and factories of Agrokipia and Mitsero, the watermills and bridges of Mathiatis, the wineries of Limassol’s mountain communities, the village of Lazania, and Nicosia’s urban center. Presentations and lectures will explore the use of traditional materials in modern construction and the development of Architectural Modernism in Cyprus.
