Cyprus Hosts EU Conference on Occupational Safety and Health

Nicosia: The Department of Labour Inspection of the Cyprus Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, with support from the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), is organizing a conference focused on occupational safety and health. Titled 'Positive Safety Culture towards Vision Zero', the event is part of Cyprus's EU Presidency activities and will take place on June 11 at the Filoxenia Conference Center, as announced in a press release by the Secretariat of the Cyprus EU Council Presidency.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Minister Marinos Moushouttas, Dr. Mario Nava, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and William Cockburn, Executive Director of EU-OSHA, will deliver opening remarks at the conference. The event will gather representatives from reputable European organizations and experts in work safety and health.

The conference will feature presentations by distinguished scientists and academics on topics including a positive safety and health culture, climate change, mental health, occupational accidents, and occupational diseases. These sessions aim to highlight research and good practices currently being implemented.

The press release emphasizes that the conference's ultimate goal is to facilitate the exchange of views, with an emphasis on enhancing work safety and health across the European Union and achieving the vision of Zero Occupational Accidents, known as Vision Zero.
