Limassol: Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, will converse with Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, during the Investopia Global Mediterranean conference in Limassol on Tuesday. The two ministers will engage in a roundtable discussion titled “Bridges of Prosperity: Unlocking Synergies between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Eastern Mediterranean,” hosted at the Park Lane hotel.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the conference will feature Cyprus’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, Greece’s Minister of Tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, Lebanon’s Minister of Tourism, Laura Khazen Lahoud, and Shaikha Al Nowais, Secretary-General of UN Tourism. They will discuss the role of tourism in economic development and human connectivity.
The conference aims to emphasize Cyprus’s position as a business hub linking three continents and the UAE’s investment ties with the Mediterranean. Discussions will cover developments in banking, the digital economy, and the significance of investments in electricity and water infrastructure.
Furthermore, the UAE Minister of Economy is expected to meet with Cyprus’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Costas Koumis, during his visit.
