Athens: A trilateral meeting between Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt on Diaspora issues was held on Monday in Athens. The discussions centered around enhancing cooperation and shared initiatives among the three nations concerning their expatriate communities.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the Republic of Cyprus was represented by Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Theodora Konstantinidou. The Greek delegation included Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yiannis Loverdos, while the Egyptian side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Ambassador Nabil Habashi. The Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the meeting in a post on X.
The meeting was part of the ongoing collaboration among the three countries, with a particular focus on the ‘Nostos’ programme. This initiative aims to strengthen the ties between the countries and their respective diasporas, fostering a sense of community and shared heritage.
