Cyprus Foreign Affairs Ministry Urges Citizens to Avoid Travel to Syria.

Nicosia: Cyprus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory urging Cypriot nationals to avoid all travel to Syria due to the potential for sudden deterioration in the security situation. The advisory highlights concerns about the escalating unrest in the region.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to monitoring the evolving situation in Syria closely. It stated that the current security conditions could worsen unpredictably, posing significant risks to travelers. The advisory strongly encourages those who wish to leave Syria to do so via Lebanon, where commercial flights are available.

Cypriot citizens currently in Syria are advised to steer clear of areas experiencing active conflict, avoid gatherings and demonstrations, and remain vigilant at all times. The Ministry recommends staying updated through international and local media, minimizing unnecessary movement, and adhering to stringent security measures.
