Cyprus FM Attends EU-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting in Brunei Representing EU Presidency

Brunei: Cyprus Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos is in Brunei to represent the Republic of Cyprus and the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU at the 25th EU-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Kombos emphasized the significance of Southeast Asia as a strategic priority for both Europe and Cyprus. In a post on X, he stated that Cyprus remains committed to enhancing its diplomatic presence in a region known for its geopolitical and economic importance.

In addition to his participation in the ministerial meeting, Kombos met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos. During this meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, the Cyprus EU Presidency, and regional developments, reflecting on the importance of strengthening ties and cooperation in Southeast Asia.
