Nicosia: Cyprus is participating in the European Judo Championships Seniors Podgorica 2025 with its largest delegation ever at a men’s-women’s event, comprising nine athletes, as announced by the national Judo Federation on Tuesday.
According to Cyprus News Agency, this major event organized by the European Judo Federation (EJU) will take place from April 23 to 27 at the Moraca Sports Center. The competition is expected to feature 431 athletes representing 47 countries. The Cypriot team includes seven male and two female athletes, all under the guidance of federal coach Lavrentis Alexandrides, with Christos Christodoulides acting as the mission leader.
The Cyprus Judo Federation has outlined a clear objective for the championships: to accumulate points in the world rankings and have its athletes reach the top eight. The Federation also emphasized that Cyprus’ participation in the European Judo Championships Seniors Podgorica 2025 is both symbolic and meaningful, showcasing the progress made in Cypriot judo, the growing international recognition, and the Federation’s dedication to investing in young athletes.
