Cyprus Experiences Weak Low Pressure Affecting Sea Conditions

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast indicating that weak low pressure is currently influencing the sea area surrounding Cyprus. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance stands at 1013hPa, with the weather expected to remain predominantly fine, albeit with localized increases in cloud coverage.

According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is anticipated to be good, and there are no warnings currently in place for the region. The sea surface temperature is recorded at a warm 26°C. The report provides a detailed breakdown of wind conditions and the state of the sea around the island’s coasts.

On the West Coast, the morning will see winds from the west to northwest at force 3 to 4, increasing to locally 4. The sea state is expected to be smooth to slight, becoming slightly rougher locally. By afternoon, winds will strengthen to a force 4, occasionally reaching 4 to 5, with the sea remaining slight. During the night, winds will decrease slightly to force 3 to 4, initially reaching 4 to 5 locally, with the sea maintaining a slight condition.

For the South Coast, morning winds will range from southwest to west at force 3 to 4, later increasing to force 4, with the sea starting smooth to slight and later becoming slight. Afternoon winds will reach force 4, occasionally 4 to 5, with a slight sea state. By night, winds will shift from west to northwest at force 3 to 4, initially reaching force 4 to 5 locally, with the sea described as smooth to slight, initially slight in some areas.

On the East Coast, morning winds will begin from northwest to northeast at force 3, later shifting to northeast to southeast, with a smooth to slight sea state. Afternoon conditions will see winds from the southwest at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4, with a sea state remaining smooth to slight. Nighttime will bring southwest winds at force 3 to 4, soon changing to northwest at the same strength, maintaining a smooth to slight sea condition.

The North Coast will experience morning winds from the northwest at force 3 to 4, with a smooth to slight sea state, gradually becoming slight. In the afternoon, winds will be from the west to northwest at force 3 to 4, occasionally reaching 4, with a slight sea. By night, winds will remain west to northwest at force 3 to 4, gradually shifting near the coast to southwest to west at force 3, with the sea state easing to smooth to slight.
