Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has released its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus for the period from 1200 on January 21, 2025, until 1200 on January 22, 2025. The forecast indicates that a weak high-pressure system is currently affecting the region, resulting in partly cloudy conditions at times.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the report issuance was recorded at 1022 hPa. The forecast predicts good visibility throughout the period with a sea surface temperature of 19°C. There are no weather warnings in effect for the area during this period.
The report outlines wind conditions and the state of the sea for different coasts around Cyprus. On the west coast, the afternoon will experience southeast winds at a speed of 3 to 4, with the sea state being slight. At night, the winds will shift to northeast at a speed of 3, making the sea smooth to slight, and in the morning, the winds will change to east to southeast at 3 to 4, maintaining a slight sea state.
For the south coast, the forecast predicts northeast to southeast winds at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, with the sea ranging from smooth to slight, locally reaching slight. During the night, northwest to northeast winds at 3 to 4 will be present, with a similar sea state, which will continue into the morning with north to northeast winds at 3.
The east coast will see northeast to east winds at 3 to 4 in the afternoon, locally reaching 4, resulting in a slight sea state. At night and in the morning, northeast winds at 3 to 4, locally reaching 4, will maintain the slight sea conditions.
On the north coast, the afternoon will bring northeast to southeast winds at 3 to 4, with the sea remaining smooth to slight and offshore conditions reaching slight. The night will see east to southeast winds at 3, maintaining a smooth to slight sea, which will continue into the morning with east to southeast winds at 3 to 4, resulting in a slight sea state.
