Nicosia: Cyprus is currently experiencing a seasonal low-pressure system that is impacting the weather and sea conditions around the island, according to the Cyprus Department of Meteorology’s latest forecast for the sea area of Cyprus. The forecast, which covers an 8-kilometer seawards range, indicates that while the weather is expected to remain mainly fine, there will be periods of increased low cloud coverage during the night and early morning. Additionally, there is a risk of local mist forming, particularly along the eastern and southeastern coasts.
According to Cyprus News Agency, visibility is anticipated to be generally good, though it may become moderate to poor in areas affected by mist. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 27°C. Despite the low-pressure system, no weather warnings have been issued for the area. The atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was 1012 hPa.
The forecast details specific wind patterns and sea conditions for various coasts of Cyprus. On the west coast, winds are expected to range from West to Northwest, with sea conditions being slight throughout the day. The south coast will experience Southwest to West winds, with sea states varying from smooth to slight. On the east coast, winds will transition from South to Southwest in the afternoon to Northeast to Southeast by the morning, with smooth to slight sea conditions. The north coast will see similar wind patterns with slight variations in sea state near the coast.
These conditions are part of the typical seasonal weather patterns affecting Cyprus, with no severe disruptions expected.
