Cyprus Experiences Seasonal Low Pressure Affecting Coastal Winds

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area around Cyprus, covering a distance of 8 kilometers seawards. The forecast, effective from 1800 on July 15, 2026, until 1800 on July 16, 2026, indicates that seasonal low pressure is influencing the region, resulting in mainly fine weather with some increased low cloud and a risk of local mist in the early morning. Visibility is expected to be good, though it may become moderate to poor in misty conditions.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast issuance was recorded at 1006 hPa. The sea surface temperature is currently 27°C, and no warnings have been issued for the area. The winds are being measured using the Beaufort scale, with variations expected throughout the day across different coastal regions.

Morning winds will be southeast to southwest at 3, gradually changing to south to southwest at 3 to 4, with a sea state that remains smooth to slight. In the afternoon, southeast to southwest winds at 3 to 4 will gradually shift to south to southwest at 4, continuing the smooth to slight sea conditions.
