Nicosia: Cyprus is experiencing high temperatures today, with the mercury soaring to extreme levels across various regions. The Department of Meteorology has recorded significant heat, particularly in Nicosia, where the temperature peaked at 40°C.
According to Cyprus News Agency, multiple locations across the island are seeing high temperatures. Larnaka Airport reported a high of 33°C with a low of 23°C, alongside a humidity level of 66% at noon. Limassol experienced temperatures reaching 32°C during the day, with a minimum of 22°C and humidity at 64%. Similarly, Pafos Airport recorded a high of 32°C and a low of 23°C, with humidity peaking at 71%.
Further inland, Frenaros reported temperatures ranging from 23°C to 33°C and a humidity level of 57% at midday. Prodromos, a mountainous area, saw slightly cooler conditions with a high of 30°C and a low of 18°C, coupled with lower humidity at 27%. Meanwhile, Polis Pafos recorded a high temperature of 36°C and a low of 22°C, with humidity at 41%.
The Department of Meteorology's data highlights the varying weather conditions across Cyprus, indicating a hot day ahead for residents and visitors. These temperature readings are expected to impact daily activities, with authorities possibly issuing heat advisories to ensure public safety.
