Nicosia: Cyprus is strengthening its diplomatic presence and establishing itself as a reliable partner for countries in the region and beyond, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said in a post on X platform during his working visit to Bahrain.
According to Cyprus News Agency, Minister Kombos noted that he participated in a roundtable discussion organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), focusing on “Cyprus’ Diplomatic Footprint in the Southern EU Neighbourhood and the wider Middle East.” He emphasized the importance of developing strategic relations to enhance Cyprus’s diplomatic standing and reliability as a partner.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister visited the Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies of the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He described the visit in another post on X as an insightful exchange with students, expressing delight at the experience.
During his two-day working visit, Kombos is scheduled to hold talks with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, as well as other senior political and government officials. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, energy, tourism, education, and cultural exchanges.
