Cyprus has been elected, for the first time, to the UN Human Rights Council for a three-year term 2025-2027.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote on its account on ‘X’ that Cyprus’ election was with 167 votes from 189 UN member states that participated in the electoral process.
“Thank you to the UN member states for the support and trust. Gratitude to everyone that worked hard for this achievement” the Ministry says.
The Ministry adds “we look forward to working with all UN member states to promote human dignity, equality and justice worldwide. Together, we can achieve the full enjoyment of human rights for all”.
