Cyprus Deputy Minister of Research Visits Brussels to Outline EU Presidency Goals

Brussels: Cyprus Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Nicodemos Damianou is currently undertaking a working visit to Brussels in the context of Cyprus' Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

According to Cyprus News Agency, Damianou is set to present the priorities of the Cyprus EU Presidency to the European Parliament, particularly focusing on areas within his jurisdiction. He plans to address the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee (IMCO) alongside the Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, as well as the Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) with the Ministers of Energy and Defence.

During his visit, Damianou will also deliver a keynote speech at the 18th European Space Conference. Additionally, he will participate in a fireside chat at a Politico event titled 'Back in the game? Europe's race to digital leadership.' The discussion will center on the Cyprus EU Presidency's focus on technological sovereignty and digital infrastructure.

In conjunction with his engagements, the Deputy Minister will brief European media on the objectives and plans of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, particularly in the domains of digital policy, cybersecurity, space, research, and innovation.
