Nicosia: Cyprus police conducted an extensive island-wide operation over the past three days targeting migrants without residence permits. This initiative led to the arrest of 43 individuals, with 37 of them being deported, as part of a coordinated effort involving the Cyprus Police and the Deputy Ministry of Immigration and International Protection.
According to Cyprus News Agency, the operation also resulted in eleven voluntary departures. Police checks at the island's two airports uncovered individuals carrying false travel documents. Additionally, authorities are set to participate in a joint return flight to Pakistan and Georgia tomorrow, during which ten foreigners, who were illegally residing on the island, will be repatriated.
The Ministry of Justice and Public Order emphasized that these operations and checks are conducted daily, with the goal of ensuring the safety and security of citizens and addressing the challenges of illegal migration.
