Cyprus Coastal Weather Forecast: Seasonal Low Pressure and Unstable Air Mass Expected

Nicosia: Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued its forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, covering a period from 6 PM on August 14, 2026, until 6 PM on August 15, 2026. The forecast area extends 8 kilometers seawards and anticipates mainly fine weather with periods of increased cloud coverage, particularly affecting southeastern coastal regions with potential local mist.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the atmospheric pressure at the time of the forecast release stands at 1003 hPa, indicative of the seasonal low pressure and unstable air mass impacting the region. Despite the fine weather, visibility may reduce to moderate or poor levels due to mist, while sea surface temperatures are expected to remain at 29°C. There are no weather warnings in effect at this time.

The forecast details varying wind conditions across different coastal areas. On the West Coast, winds are expected to range from West to Northwest with a Beaufort scale of 3 to 4 at night, shifting to Southwest to West by morning and increasing slightly in the afternoon. The South Coast will experience Southwest to West winds, transitioning to Northwest by night, with wind strengths of 3 to 5 through the day. The East Coast will see similar patterns, with wind directions shifting mainly from South to Southwest. Lastly, the North Coast will experience South to Southwest winds, gradually transitioning to Southeast to Southwest, with wind levels ranging from 3 to 5 throughout the forecast period.
