Cyprus Business Council Bolsters Economic Ties Between Cyprus and UAE, Minister Declares

Dubai: The establishment of the Cyprus Business Council, comprised of Cypriot professionals and business people and operating under Dubai Chambers, is a tangible step forward in strengthening the economic bridge between Cyprus and the UAE, Cyprus Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, stated.

According to Cyprus News Agency, during the First Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Business Council held at Dubai Digital Park, Minister Papanastasiou highlighted the Council’s role in providing a structured platform for businesses, investors, and innovators from both countries. This platform is designed to facilitate connections, exchange knowledge, and create joint ventures aimed at fostering sustainable growth, technology transfer, and shared prosperity.

He emphasized the responsibility of the Cyprus Business Council to evolve this foundation into a dynamic network, driving cooperation in sectors such as energy, innovation, green technologies, tourism, maritime services, infrastructure projects, the food and water nexus, digital assets, and digital transformation. These sectors, he noted, are areas where Cyprus and the UAE share both ambition and expertise, promising a partnership that can yield significant regional and global impacts.

Minister Papanastasiou concluded by reiterating the strong commitment of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus to support the initiative. He assured continued collaboration with Emirati counterparts to ensure the long-term success of this economic partnership.
