Cyprus Braces for Weak Low Pressure with Increased Cloud Coverage

Nicosia: Cyprus is set to experience a weak low-pressure system affecting its sea areas over the next day, the Cyprus Department of Meteorology has reported. Residents and visitors can expect increased cloud coverage, with the possibility of isolated light showers occurring from the afternoon onwards. Despite this weather change, visibility is expected to remain good, and there are no warnings in place for maritime activities. According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and details the expected wind patterns and sea conditions. The atmospheric pressure at the time of issuance was recorded at 1019 hPa. The sea surface temperature remains at 21°C, indicating relatively mild conditions. On the West Coast, morning winds are projected to be from the northwest to northeast at Beaufort scale 3, becoming variable later in the morning. By afternoon, winds will shift to a south to southwest direction, gradually turning southwest to northwest. Nighttime will see winds f rom the northeast to southeast, increasing to a Beaufort scale of 4 in some areas, with sea conditions remaining smooth to slight throughout the day. The South Coast will experience northwest to northeast winds in the morning, with a gradual shift to southeast to southwest directions. Afternoon winds will come from the southwest to west, with local variations to northeast to southeast. By night, winds will revert to northwest to northeast, with similar smooth to slight sea states expected. For the East Coast, morning winds will transition from southwest to northwest, then switch to northeast to southeast. Afternoon conditions will maintain an east to southeast direction, with nighttime winds moving from northwest to northeast and gradually turning offshore. Sea states will remain smooth to slight. The North Coast will see southeast to southwest winds in the morning, shifting to south to southwest by afternoon. During the night, winds will become southeast, locally adjusting to east to southeast with a Beau fort scale of 3 to 4, maintaining smooth to slight sea conditions.
