Cyprus Braces for Weak Low Pressure and Isolated Thunderstorms

Nicosia: The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for the sea area surrounding Cyprus, indicating that a weak low-pressure system is currently affecting the region. Throughout the evening, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated, particularly in the northern, western, and eastern parts of the area.

According to Cyprus News Agency, the forecast covers an area extending 8 kilometers seawards and highlights that atmospheric pressure is currently at 1014 hPa. The forecast also notes that tonight and tomorrow morning, there will be locally increased cloud coverage, with isolated showers expected, especially over the western region. Additionally, there is dust in suspension, although a gradual decrease is forecasted to begin in the afternoon.

Visibility in the area is expected to be moderate, with periods of poor visibility due to the weather conditions. The sea surface temperature is recorded at 19°C. Despite these conditions, no warnings have been issued for the area, providing some assurance to those at sea.
